Ultimate Jello Party

As the main animator for Ultimate Jello Party, a 4-player board game, I focused on bringing its cartoonish charm to life through vibrant, exaggerated animations. The game’s whimsical aesthetic demanded fluid character movements and playful visual effects to match its competitive yet lighthearted tone. Link to steam game

As one of the pixel artists for this GameBoy-style game jam, I embraced strict limitations: a 4-color palette and retro hardware constraints. Designed platformer mechanics, the main character (with idle/run/jump animations), tilesets, NPC portraits, and a multi-phase boss (including attack animations). Delivered a cohesive, nostalgic aesthetic that captured the essence of classic GameBoy titles under a tight deadline. Check out the game here!

As Art Director for this horror project, I defined the game’s eerie visual identity: crafted a moody color palette, designed environmental storytelling through level design, and created the protagonist. Developed tilesets to enhance suspense, ensuring that art supported the game’s narrative. (7 days) Check out the game here!

In this fast challenge, I've created micro-scale pixel art, creating 8x8 and 16x8 sprites for characters, items, and UI under time pressure. Handled all visual assets solo, prioritizing clarity and charm despite minimal resolution. Proved ability to deliver polished, functional art in a rapid-development environment. Hi! I’m Marcos, a 25-year-old Brazilian artist born in Rio de Janeiro and now based in São Paulo. Growing up, I’ve always been captivated by the ways video games can become art. This evolved into a lifelong passion for art as a whole, driving me to study from classical techniques to digital innovation. As a professional pixel artist and animator with 2 years of experience in the game industry and over 5 years creating pixel art for commissions, specializing in detailed, cohesive visuals for projects of all scales. My work spans 8x8 micro-sprites to 200x200 HD assets, blending technical precision with creative adaptability. In my role as pixelartist, in many professional long term projects I developed complex animations and assets aligned with the artistic guidelines, ensuring integration into game engines. Alongside this, my years of commission work have sharpened my ability to interpret diverse client visions, delivering assets that balance style, functionality, and technical constraints. Across both fields, I prioritize:Efficient Workflows: Optimized pipelines for sprite creation, animation, and asset organization, reducing production bottlenecks.Visual Consistency: Rigorous adherence to style guides and documentation to maintain coherence, whether for indie teams or solo developers.Collaborative Communication: Proactive dialogue with artists, designers, and programmers to align goals and minimize rework. My experience has taught me that clarity and organization are as critical as creativity. By establishing clear art directives, documenting processes, and fostering transparent communication, I ensure projects stay on track and on artistic vision. While I embrace fast-paced challenges, my focus lies in sustainable, scalable workflows that balance quality with deadlines. Outside of professional projects, I continuously refine my craft through commissions, exploring styles from retro to modern pixelart aesthetics.Let’s collaborate to bring your project’s visual identity to life.
